A pre-existing condition is a medical condition a person has been diagnosed with, is being treated for, or has with reasonable medical certainty before the start of an insurance policy. Some policies have coverage for sudden and unexpected recurrence of a medical condition that is otherwise under control. - Persons should be traveling outside their home country.
- Travel should not be undertaken to receive medical treatment.
- Coverage is available for sudden recurrence of a pre-existing condition, not chronic conditions nor conditions that have recently arisen.
- Conditions should be stable and not require continued medical treatment for their coverage.
- Ideal for older family members visiting family in the US.
